ü Cost is only $10 

ü They will take place in the varsityfootball locker room

ü Be sure to have parents-signed physical card with you,so you can hand it in that day

ü Varsity Athletes @ 9am

ü JV Athletes @ 10:30am

SPORTSMANSHIP PHILOSOPHY
 

   The Oakridge School District recognizes that participation in extra curricular activities is a privilege. Participants conduct, in and out of school, shall not reflect negatively on our school or create a disruptive influence on the discipline, good order, moral or educational environment in the school. Student athletes are to be good sports and positive role models on or off the playing field. The following are core beliefs of Oakridge athletics:

  1.  Participation is for those who potentially have the skills, attitudes, and willingness to work hard to improve their respective sports.
  2. Success is not measured by the win/loss record.
  3. The coaching staff,athletes, administration, parents, and fans should always act in a manner that would enhance the positive image of the school and community.
  4. Athletes should been encouraged to participate in more than one sport throughout the year.
  5. Playing time in scheduled contests has to be earned. Work ethic, ability, academic standing,and behavior are vital factors.
  6. The needs of the team must come before the needs of the individual.
  7. Athletic participation is intended to benefit all athletes by teaching fundamentals,strategies, and behavior that will enable our teams and athletes to be successful.


 

PAY TO PARTICIPATE

Oakridge Public Schools requires all athletes to pay $50 to compete in sports at Oakridge. The cost is $50 whether an athlete plays one, two, or three sports. Oakridge expects the athlete, not the parents, to be responsible for the $50. An athlete will not compete in an event until his or her money is paid.

GRATER MUSKEGON ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION
 
      Oakridge High School is a member of the Greater Muskegon Athletic Association. This association was formed to promote better interscholastic relations of the member schools throughout the county of Muskegon.  The following schools are members of the GMAA: Muskegon Christian, Orchard View, Fruitport, North Muskegon, Whitehall, Mona Shores, Montague, Muskegon, Muskegon Heights, Muskegon Catholic, Oakridge, Reeths-Puffer, Ravenna, and Holton.

West Michigan Conference

Whitehall High School is a member of the West Michigan Conference. This conference consists of predominately class C high schools along the western coast of the state of Michigan. The conference promotes interscholastic relations of member schools through the sponsoring of athletic contests and other student activities. The following schools are members of the West Michigan Conference:
