Our District - Transportation

Oakridge Transportation Department

Welcome to Oakridge Public Schools Transportation,

If you have not registered your child for transportation, you need to do so by clicking on the registration link below. You must complete a registration for each child.

In order to view your child’s transportation information on Power School, you must have your Power School I.D. and password for each child. Transportation information is available through the parent portal on powerschool.

Our mission is to provide the safest and most efficient means of transporting your student to and from school. Parents/guardians are requested to identify one pick up and one drop off location for the school year at the registration tab. Please understand that we are unable to provide personalized service for the over 1900 plus students in our district.   The bus stop may or may not be located at the home address. However, students will be assigned to the nearest designated bus stop with the prescribed walking distance.   Walking distance to and from school are outlined on the transportation page of the district website.   Elementary (K-6) students may be expected to walk up to one-half (.5) mile to the nearest designated bus stop.   Secondary (7-12) students may be expected to walk up to one (1) mile to the nearest designated bus stop.   This distance may be further for cul-de-sacs, subdivisions, dead-end roads, one-way roads, private roads and private drives.

Students are required to ride the bus and use the bus stop they have been assigned.  All of this ensures that the school will know who is actually on a bus, at a designated bus stop and assists the District in locating a student in the event of an emergency. Should a bus have more students than available seating, students may be moved to an alternate bus without advance notice.  All students must be at their designated bus stop 7 minutes prior to the scheduled pickup time.   Parents should be at the designated bus stop 7 minutes prior to the scheduled drop off time. Parents not at the bus stop for drop off when the bus arrives to receive their student will be able to pick up their student from the school of attendance at the end of the bus route.

Parents should be advised that there are no bus passes given for students to ride a different bus to or from school. Students shall not be permitted to use an alternate bus other than the assigned bus on record. It is essential that we have consistency and safety for the students.

We have a staff of over 20 professionally trained and certified school bus drivers who use the utmost care bringing your students to and from school each day. Our bus fleet is maintained with a commitment to safety and reliability.  Our administrative and office staff, strive to provide prompt and courteous services to all students and families with integrity and efficiency.

The forms below are used for registering students for transportation services to and from school for the 2015-2016 school year. Please complete one registration per student. Please complete this registration process whether or not your student will need transportation services.
