Hello!  My name is Michelle DeWeerd and I am a Second Grade teacher at Oakridge Lower Elementary.  I have been with the Oakridge School District since my graduation from Grand Valley State University in 1990.  I started as a special education teacher for the first seven years of my career, and then moved to the Second Grade, and have been there ever since. I am very fortunate to love my job and the community I serve. 

 I have been married since 1991 to my husband Kirk, and we have been blessed with two wonderful children, Lindsay and Aaron. Lindsay is a freshmen at GVSU and Aaron is an 8th grader. Here they are below during the summer near beautiful Lake Michigan and "Big Red."  Here is Aaron's football picture, and Lindsay's picture before a school dance.
