Hello!  My name is Michelle DeWeerd and I am a Second Grade teacher at Oakridge Lower Elementary.  I have been with the Oakridge School District since my graduation from Grand Valley State University in 1990.  I started as a special education teacher for the first seven years of my career, and then moved to the Second Grade, and have been there ever since. I am very fortunate to love my job and the community I serve. 

 I have been married since 1991 to my husband Kirk, and we have been blessed with two wonderful children, Lindsay and Aaron. Lindsay is a sophomore at GVSU and Aaron is a freshmen at Allendale High School.  Here they are below during the summer near beautiful Lake Michigan and "Big Red."  Here is Aaron's football picture, and Lindsay's picture before a school dance.
